TO OUR DELTA DENTAL PPO PATIENTS
We are currently transitioning out of the Delta PPO network, but will continue to be a Delta Premier provider. You may continue to use your insurance in our office, but some of your benefits or copayments may change. Delta will likely process your claims through the Delta Premier network.
If you need help estimating your benefits, let us know, or you can check your benefits on Delta Dental's website, www1.deltadentalins.com (for most states).
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

The health and safety of everyone in our office is our top priority. In order to maintain safe distancing between patients and to allow for additional precautions, we are spacing out our appointments, and trying to do more in fewer visits. Please advise us of all of your dental concerns in advance so that we can schedule the appropriate time to address those concerns. Pre-appointment CoViD-19 screening and proper face coverings are mandatory for all. Our staff is fully vaccinated, and we strongly recommend everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated. We do not require vaccination of our patients in order to uphold our ethical obligation to keep dental care accessible to all.
Our Philosophy

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
This old adage certainly holds true in dentistry. Simple daily flossing, brushing, and rinsing after meals can help to prevent most cavities and gum problems. Regular dental check-ups help to identify problems early, making treatment easier, less expensive, less painful, and less traumatic.
Our goal is to treat the entire patient as well as individual tooth problems. Dr. Louie performs complete dental examinations and makes recommendations based on his findings, your comments, and your wants and needs. Your concerns will always be addressed first, and it will always be your decision as to what treatment is done.
About Our Office

We are a small, private dental office located in the Pill Hill area of Oakland, California, and we provide personal, professional dental care to patients of all ages. Dr. Louie is the sole dentist in the office, and our patients are guaranteed to see him every time they are treated in our office - they are never passed off to some assistant, hygienist, or other dentist. This allows us to provide consistent continuity of care for our patients that larger offices cannot provide.
About the Doctor

Dr. Louie graduated from the University of the Pacific (UOP), School of Dentistry, in San Francisco, in 1985. He began his practice as an associate of three other dentists in five separate offices. Each of these offices were very much different, serving different communities with different types and volumes of patients. After two years of working with other dentists, Dr. Louie purchased a dental practice in Oakland. With the experiences he obtained as an associate, he chose to keep his practice small so that he could focus on the care of his patients, rather than just the business of dentistry.
Dr. Louie is an active member of the Alameda County Dental Society, California Dental Association, and American Dental Association. He has served as a clinical instructor in the department of operative dentistry at UOP, and has been a volunteer dentist for the Alameda County Geriatric Dental Care Program, Coalition of Concerned Medical Professionals, and Alameda County School Screening Program. Dr. Louie is a Bay Area native, went to Oakland public schools, and currently resides in Oakland.
Appointments
Patients are generally seen by appointment only, although walk-ins are often accommodated. You can usually get an appointment within a week or two, and sometimes even on the same day, especially if you are in pain. We generally see one patient at a time so that they may be given our full attention, and we try to see all patients on time. We request that you extend the same courtesy to us - a missed appointment is a loss to everyone. If you cannot keep your appointment, we require at least 48 hours notice so that your appointment time may be made available to another patient in need. As do most offices, we do reserve the right to charge for missed appointments.
If you would like to make an appointment, please call us at (510) 444-7277. We do not make appointments online because we feel every appointment should be customized to each patient's needs (plus, it's always nice to speak to a real person).
